Cost Share Program
Huntington County Soil & Water Conservation District is sponsoring a Cost-Share Program for native/prairie plantings and cover crop seedings. These conservation practices will help improve soil health, prevent soil erosion, increase water infiltration and provide wildlife habitat.
Cost share amounts for these conservation practices are:
- $20 per acre for cover crops planted - maximum of 100 acres per producer (maximum cost share is $2,000)
- $600 per acre for native prairie seeding - maximum of 1 acre per producer (maximum cost share is $600)
- $600 per acre for tree planting - maximum of 2 acres per producer (maximum cost share is $1,200)
